Orientation and approach

The use of fast, effective short-term rational-emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) which focuses mainly upon the present and does not delve into or dwell excessively upon the past. REBT is focussed on practical problem solving processes and skills which encourages changes in perspective, thinking and attitude, leading to better results and a happier more fulfilled existence. It is based upon the scientific principals of evidence, disputation and Socratic dialogue.

Personal Statement

Many individuals live their lives according to some strong, illogical, and irrational philosophical assumptions which cause considerable anxiety and which prevent them from leading relatively happy, normal lives. The goals of rational-emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) is to assist and educate individuals to identify their irrational assumptions that lead to their emotional disturbances and to guide them in challenging, uprooting, and ultimately replacing these irrational assumptions with more logical views about themselves, others and the world.
