Can anyone recommend a good
psychiatrist in the PMB area-someone
who actually cares about their
patients. Have been seeing someone
for chronic depression for the past 5
years but have had several problems
with this particular psychiatrist...

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulty.
The best way to find a psychiatrist is probably by referral - I would suggest looking at this list of psychologists in Durban or this list of psychologists in Pietermaritzburgand then contacting one of them and perhaps asking who they refer to. You may also get a good indication of the help you are likely to receive by visiting the psychologist as well - all research indicates that a combination of psychotherapy and psychiatric intervention is most effective in treating depression.
